![]() ![]() In 2015 the impending Euro 4 regulations finally spelt the end of the 2 stroke engine and production of the traditional Vespa. Strangely after having named this scooter 'Ultima Serie' (final series) Piaggio then confused the issue by finding a loophole in the regulations and in 2010 started selling new PXs in small numbers. More importantly each scooter had a numbered ID plate riveted to the toolbox and a matching certificate of authenticity. They all came fitted with a screen, carrier, floor mat, chrome rims, whitewall tyres and a different seat. ![]() The story at the time was that number 1 was auctioned for charity and number 1000 went into the Piaggio museum. A run of 1000 limited editions were commissioned from frame number ZAPMOthe details below to 21000. It looked as though Euro 3 regulations, coming into force in 2008, would make it impossible to keep going with the 2 stroke engine. The Vespa PX30 Ultima Serie was released by Piaggio in 2007 to celebrate 30 years of the PX range and also the last production run of the classic steel bodied geared 2 stroke range.
